I like it. Did you listen to the rest of the statement, or just the end?
No, I never heard it, I just saw it on these dumazz do-rags they have tied on the front of the new bikes out here on the west coast, like motorcycles 'wear' do-rags' WTF?? dumb...
Then maybe you should hear or read the rest, instead of judging a book by its cover?

I am stating the obvious by saying that Harley Davidson wants us to put miles on our bikes. They encourage us to do it with this slogan, they do it with rallys, they do it with mileage pins, or anything else they can market. By putting miles on our bikes, they stimulate sales of new bikes, stimulate service departments, and sales of all the bling that goes on the bikes. That's just smart business, and I think their marketing, for the most part, is effective.

Their marketing is not the reason that I own two Harleys, but their marketing seems to work for the company. The Harley image they portray does not really do anything for me, but I really don't care as long as they continue to produce a bike that I like.

I think the overall statement makes a good point, and obviously Harley is trying to keep people buying their bikes. If nothing else, it gets people talking about the company.

I agree the "limited-edition" bandana is pretty lame.

Maybe someone will put up a link so those of us that don't have a clue as to what you are talking about may be enlightened.

Does it bother you when other marketing ploys are used to try to get you to buy products? Some of them get me like "Do you have a structured settlement or annuity? JG Wentworth says it's your money and you need it now!" That one makes me change the channel or rush for the mute button but "screw it...let's ride" don't bother me at all. It's business...I hope Harley remains successful.

I think it is crap like that slogan that make it embarrassing to be on a Harley at times. Just like the add, "What better gift for you father on Father's Day, than giving him a personality." Personality being a Harley. Like SwampTiger said, they try to motivate us with the milage pins, patches, rallies, etc... Yet every guy I see with that crap I think is also insulting to the image of a biker whether they ride Jap or HD. I am comfortable with where I ride and how I ride. I don't need to show someone my cool pin.
