I do let my sons ride my bikes. After all I taught them and got them started at an early age.
But NO one else.

As for the general question, I agree with dhoward; it's just a thing, so if someone's qualified - and a friend, of course - why not?

I asked a buddy of mine to take mine out for a spin after I upgraded the exhaust, only so I could hear how it sounded coming up the road, other than that, Don't ask to ride my bike and I want ask to ride your b!tch.
