If I know they can ride and are a friend--I tell them to. Thats the best way to hear what your scoot sounds like. If it breaks--we fix it. They pour iron and steel everyday. The first day I met my future son in law(he's now family)he went nuts over my pro street Ford Model A Sedan,I told him to take it out. When he came back and was ready to back it in the garage--he thought he had it in reverse--it wasn't,he ran into a pole and chipped the front fender--big deal--I fixed it. Anybody that compares a piece of steel to their wife or calls it their "baby" ---Don't Know Nothing. Nothing. And I mean Nothing.

Wow. You got guts. My kiddos aren't old enough to ride my bike. But if they were, and wanted to, I would tell them no. Personally, I don't let anyone ride it. I just don't want any unnecessary and totally avoidable issues that could be caused with dropping the bike.
Sounds like your boy is a decent rider. That's good. What is your plan if he lays the thing down? Totals it?

A went on a ride a few weeks ago and when we stopped at the filling station, one of the guys wanted to swap bikes for the rest of the trip back. I let him ride my 02 Fatboy and I rode his 07 Night Train. Completely different feel to that bike. No as much for you legs and feet but the extra 130 cc's and lighter frame gave the Night Train way more power. The half apes were cool also. So in general, I if you're safe and the bikes are insured, it's exhilirating to get the feel of different machines.

Greetings,
I have to agree with most of the people on here...Nobody rides my bike but me. When I had my Night Train I was constantly being bugged about wanting to sit on it and such. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Sure. If they know how to ride and won't hurt htemselves.
Why not?
It's just a thing.

I know I'm in the minority around here, but, like dhoward said, it's just a thing. Insurance covers it if there's a problem. I don't let just anyone ride my bike, but I don't freak out if one of my riding buddies wants to take it for a spin.

Nope. Going on 5 years now. I have some (2) friends that I would let ride it if they asked. Both are experienced riders, would let me roll their scoots if I asked and are stand-up guys. If they wrecked it, they'd fix it. I don't like the idea of anyone else riding my bike. Luckily they both know this and haven't asked (and I haven't asked to take theirs' out for a spin).
