a little worrie
My brother and I just brought two classics. I havn,t had a bike in many years but own a few in the past. My brother on the other hand had never had a bike or road one before. And his first one is a nice RK classic. We both are going to take the two day riding course together, but I can,t help but worrie if he is going to be ok with it. Any pointers I could use and past on to him.

Buy or borrow the Ride Like A Pro III DVD or tape and watch it with your brother. This has some valuable instruction that will go well with the riding class you will be taking.

Be sure and leave the bigger bikes at home. They usually provide smaller bikes that make riding in the course a lot easier...and if you dump one, it'll be their bike and not yours.

If they have longer than two day classes, take it.If not you might want to buy a POS(something small),& just ride around the block for awhile. My personal opinion is I wouldn't ride a big bike like that if I never rode before.Just food for thought.Ride safe

Why not rent a pair of Sportsters from your local rental dealer for a weekend and go put 2-300 miles on them? Just make sure to get the collision/liability full coverage waiver.

I agree with most the advice here already and would add RIDE WITHIN YOUR COMFORT LEVEL. If some old lady on a 250 blows buy you and flips you off so be it, ride to your abilty and it will all come naturally. If you try to keep up with the "Jones" you may be taking your last ride. Ride safe and have fun.
