Nice of you to offer your help and also to not make him feel bad in front of his wife. Also, good post here on the forum and I'm with you on your response to rickoshay...can't figure where that dude's coming from.[sm=boosign.gif]

Reminds of a time when I was taking an off ramp and my bike just died, I thoughtdamn, what happened, so I was rolling and checked the petcock and it was good and I knew I had gas, then I looked at the kill switch,my thumbhit itand shut her down. I turned it on and fired her back up and was a happy camper.

BWAHAHAA!!! Hell, I've been ridin since '70, and I did the same thing with a 4-wheeler we just got for my son...a couple weeks ago! hehe Ya could tell I've been on an EFI for the past few years...was just 'bout to go have a talk with the dealer...had the son in the truck ready to pull outta the drive...when I started laughin my *** off. My son says, "What's so funny, dad?" I told him, "Me!" Took him back and showed him the petcock...yep, in the off position.

I bet that dude you helped WAS embarrassed...but hell, ya gotta be able to laugh at yerself...yes?

I've done that many times on my snowmobile. Ridden them
my whole life. By now that's the first thing i check if of doesn't
start after about 3 pulls. I love being the genius that solves the
problem on other peoples rides tho!! Haha. Good story tho, nice
of you to stop and give a hand.

Sh*t! I did it last year after I had a couple of guys bump start me at the bar. Got out on the hwy and she died! Had to push that biatch up hill to a safe place and then call my buddy at 2:15 to come give me a jump! Not a whole lotta helpful people out in the Sierra at that time of night!
Oh yaa. Anyone that has the old school fork lock has probably done the quick left turn and down trick too!!!

At least he wasn't driving around with the petcock on reserve and ran it out of gas. No recovering from that one. But i know I'm the only one on this forum who has ever done that so why bring it up.

Thats funny happened to me the other day, i saw a bike on the side of the interstate , it was a BMW so i pulled over say need some help?" The guy says with that embarrased look, my buddy left it on reserve and im outta gas, and that someone was on the way with gas. But he did say thanks for stopping, But when he said outta gas and the look on his face ya could tell he was pretty embarrased.

Default RE: Stopped to help a biker today... UPDATE

Karma is a strange thing.......

My son is home from college and is looking for a part -time job. He and I were at the grocery store and I ran into this same guy. We get to talking and I ask him what he does.
"I own a Quiznos..."
Son looks up, "you hiring?"
"You his son..." "Yes Sir..."
Done... Hired on the spot at 50 cents above minimum wage. Started today.
