Leather Jacket Alteration...who do you call?

RE: Leather Jacket Alteration...who do you call?
There is a shoe repair place near where I live. I collect vintage motorcycle and flight jackets. I have had him do all the work on my jackets including alterations, zipper replacement, and sewing on patches. He does a great job.

ORIGINAL: Bluerose
I bought an FXRG at a killer price and it really is a nice jacket.
They did not have my actaul size so I bought 1 size up...not really a problem because I usually find the "right size is snug and I wanted some room to use the liner and all the pockets....For some reason though they did not make the bottom of the jacket tailored or adjustable it's a bit "wide" for lack of a better word and allows air to flow up under it. Even if I pull the back support there is still quite a bit of room.
Since weight is a fluxuating thing what I would llike to do is have a "cinch" put on both sides of the jacket to tighten it up while leaving it roomy.
Who do I call for such an alteration? I want it to look nice so I'm not going to try.

Instead of a cinch, a belt might be easier to get done by a good leather worker, something likethe old style riding jackets had. I'm in the same boat as you, since I've lost close 30 lbs in the two years since I bought my current jacket. It's still cooler up here in Ohio, and the jacket can't get tight enough with the cinches to block the air.

Rose,
I would take it to Bates Leathers in Signal Hill just north of Long Beach. http://www.batesleathers.com/. I have a pair of FoxCreek leather overpants that I wanted altered, and they did it no problem. They changed some pockets, added some suspender tabs, and did some other stuff. They get leather from ALL OVER and work on it.

If you ever go to San Jose,Just Leather can do it.But since your down south,I would go to Bates(not the motel!).
Bates has been making leathers for decades.

Found a place around the corner from my office that everyone here swears by....they do regular alterations and shoes. The guy didn't even blink when I asked to have it altered.
He did not like the cinch idea at all though so he is just taking it in on the sides nearthe bottom. Will be a week. I'm so happy. I really like the jacket.
