Default cleaning your bike

Rode hard this weekend. What are you all doing to clean your bike afterwards? Hose and dish soap like a car? Spot cleaning with a wet rag? Power washer? Word.

Stay away from power washes. Good soap and low pressure water hose is all you need.

Stay away from dish soap, I have read and been told that it is to harsh and can remove wax. I use car wash soap on my scoot.

Sorry I should have added that. Use soap made for washing cars not dish soap. Dish soap will strip the wax.

Ok dude here is the BoneCrusher full proof method of making your bike look like it was professionally detailed in 20 minutes.

Step 1---hit everything but the paint with simple green let sit for 1-2 minutes
Step 2---Rinse with a mild stream of the hose
Step 3---Wash the whole bike with standard car soap and a sponge
Step 4---See step 2
Step 5---Fire up the leaf blower and dry that bitch off
Step 6---Take a 100% cotton towel and hit the few spots left that need it.

Word to your *****

+1 on the Simple Green. Takes the bugs and road grime right off.

Good plan

"Pledge" wipes, followed by a microfiber soft cloth. Works on paint, chrome, leather, you name it.
Generally takes 6-8 Pledge wipes, depending on just how grungy the bike is.
If there's alot of sandy/gritty crap, I'll rinse the bike first.

I use a foaming engine degreaser on occasion for the motor, tranny, underside, where ever it's really gunky.

"Bleche White" does a number on the white walls.

If I'm being **** about it, a thourough cleaning takes about 2 hours, top to bottom.

Later!
