I use S-100 andcar wash solution. Dish washing solution is much too harsh for paint.

I didn't read everyone elses replies, so maybe this has been said already. But, NEVER use dish washing soap to wash a car or bike. It strips wax off, and is very harsh to the clear coat, paint, black painted engines, and gaskets. Use only soap specially designed for washing vehicles.

+1

But use Dawn if you want to take off any old wax & re-apply another new wax. I use S100 spray washto clean it & it works great. Just hose it off thoroughly as to not leave a residue. Follow up with a blow dry.

The Mr Clean Autodry works great. You don't even need the leaf blower! Once I get it clean, I use the Meguiars Quick Detailer to keep it touched up, and it works great.

Default Boot marks

If you (or, more likely, your lady) ever get boot scuffs on your pipes, Goo Gone works great in getting those right off.

A trick I learned. My drive way is 1/2 mile dirt road. To get the dust off my ultra, I mix a 5 gal. bucket of soapy water. Then take a plastic cup and pour the soapy water over the bike, avoiding the usual areas I don't want to get too wet. Immediately rinse off the soapy water and procede to wash the regular way. This method removes most dust and loose particles so that when I wash with a mitt, it doesn't grind the dust/particles into the paint. I have very little swirling in my paint.

Use car wash solution. Dish washing soap is harsh and strips wax. Also, use a garden hose and avoid pressure washers. High pressure forces water into places it doesn't belong like gauges, wheel bearings, etc.
