SCARIN' LITTLE KIDS AGAIN ARE YOU?
I'm no "biker" by my definition. But it really cracks me up when a little kid comes over to talk to me and his soccer Mom just about loads her pantiesand drops herecell phone trying to get out of her Porshe Ceyenne to fetch little Bobby before I kidnap him and sell him to gypsies on Ebay.
[I remember when I was about 8 or 9 vacationing in the Ozarks (1958 or so). I walked up to thisbiker that had his his all slicked back, sleeveless levi coat (with a hot young chick with him), bike was all bobbed and rattlecanned, thedude looked bad- my Dad really flipped out! HAHAHAHA! (FOND MEMORIES).]

I've gotten the same cool reception. Idling at a light waiting for it to change and a kid walks out to the curb to eyeball the bike, then wham here comes the helicopter mom swooping him up. But what's real cool are the kids hiding behind the tinted glass in the minivans waving a peace sign like I can't see them. We are so bad.

Hehehe!!
Kids for the most part haven't been poisoned by sterotyping. They don't think like most adults do!

I got the opposite reaction on Saturday. Stopped at a pedestrian crossing light in town and a family was walking across. The kid, about 5 I'd guess was smiling, waving at me, yelling "Hi! Hi!" The whole family thought that was great. I gave him a wave a blip of the throttle. They all loved it. I had a smile on my face for the next hour.

I don't think that it's so much the Mom's are scaired of the "big bad biker" but more the fact that they don't knowyou or me for that matter and I wouldn't want my kids to feel so comfortable approaching strangers. Yea, yea.. Waving is one thing but read the news watch TV there are alot of sick f*ck$ out there they prey on kids.. jus sayin.

I always wave back to kids who are giving me the thumbs up on the bike. I was like that when I was a kid and from the first time I saw a bike in the neighborhood I have always dreamed of having one. I now do.
