Went through a similar situtaion 2 Xmas's ago. Mine was 14 years old though and I tell you what, harder than hell to get over. Glad I was off of work for the week due to a Xmas shutdown cause I probably would've missed a few days. I feel what your feeling like now.

I am sorry for your loss, 2 years or 12 it is always too soon.
I lost a German Shepherd 7 years ago and the pup we replaced her with has been sick with AIDs the past year. Her immune system is on overdrive trying to kill herself but after 2 tranfusions and $10,000 and counting she is still going. I would do no less for my child and feel she is just as important.
congrats on the new pup. Mine has gotten out a few times when I first got her so I know how quick it can happen and nothing you would love to prevent more! It just happens, don't beat yourself up about it.
