What can I get to fix a flat on a tubed tire?
I have a '03 heritage classic. It has stock wheels so Im assuming they are tubed tires.
I've been seeing alot of posts about tire repair so it got me thinking I should get something incase I get a flat somewhere.
So are their any good products to get to patch a tubed tire long enough to get back home?
I know they have fix-a-flat stuff in cans but I've never used them. Are the cans supposed to re-inflate the tire to or do you need to carry a portable compressor to?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

From what I know, a tubed tire had to have the tube replaced. There is no roadside fix for it. Sorry! But unless there is someone else that knows anything, you are SOL on the side of the road.

A new tube. DO NOT put fix-a-flat in. Spoke wheels, other than American Wire Wheel leak air between the spoke nipples and rim, hence the tube. If you put in fix-a-flat it leaks out of the same place. Plus it makes a nasty mess of the tech and tire machine when replacing the tube. Guarantee they will charge extra if you try sealing.

Slime for Tubed Tiressometimes works. It depends on if you ripped the tube. If you ripped it, you are out of luck.
I tried Slime with an old tire and tube that I was getting ready to replace. I put it in a tire, then drove a couple of nails in it and pulled them out. I rode it around the block to slosh the Slime around. I held air for a week and was still holding air when I changed the tire.
Slime is supposed to be put in before your get a problem.

I bought some slime. It might work for short distance, but you gotta get a boot for the tube, or better yet a new tube and a boot for the tire. It's just a fact.

The solution is: Cell phone, RoadAmerica (HOG) or other towing plan, and a credit card. You cannot repair a tubed tire on the roadside and you wouldn't want to try. I keep my HOG map with H-D dealer locations in my Tour Pak. That's the price we pay for having laced wheels.

One small bottle of Fix-A-Flat and a C02 inflater with a few extra cartridges. Always worth a try. May get you to where you'd rather be at a slow limp rather than your ride being dragged onto some tow truck to his buddy's place. So, I give the tech an extra 10 bucks later on. Well worth the try.
