Sorry for your displeasure but here in Virginia it runs fron $250-1000. Many people here park in them without a plate and inforcement is weak, I have handicapped plates on everything I own and three doctors said I was handicapped not a fatass. By the way I am 5'9" and 200lbs.

 

Exactly, that's why I didn't say a word and swallowed my pride. A true milestone for this country boy!

Here in CA a handicapped ticket is $330... I told my wife it's cheaper to park the car in the middle of the traffic lane and leave it there and have it get towed than to park in a handicap spot - so dont even think about it!!!!

 

Before you pay the fine, make sure that handicapped spot is properly and legally marked under the statutes of your venue. I've found that many businesses cut corners and don't properly identify their handicapped parking spots. Most statutes require both the blue markings on the blacktop and a sign which is often missing. In any case, it's worth a shot to do a little research. It might save you some money.

since you are a disabled vet, you should carry your handicap placard, you will not have to feed the meter at all...... it would be free and never get the ticket...

 

I say do your homework first, was the spot marked, painted or noted in any manner. Then find out the laws and regulations covering such spaces. If it appears in your favor go to court. Even if there is a doubt in your mind go to court. Sometimes the court will drop these things because they don't want to tie up no telling at the time over a parking ticket. I definitely would let the cops command know about his remarks.
