Yellowstone/Grand Tetons in early June?
Stilltoo cold for this?
I'm working out my Vacation route and think if I cut a few other scenic routes I can probably make Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Equals out tojust under 300 miles a day or so...
I know it's totally worth the ride....I remember being amazed by the tetons when I was a kid. I might even waste an extra day vacation for this one.

Check out www.nps.gov
It will let you link to the web site for each park and there you can find among other things information on average temps and precipitation for each month. In 1998 in late June I rode through a snow storm on I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie. Some of the higher passes may not be open until late June or later so plan your route accordingly.
We are headed to Glacier NP in early July and the park service is currently predicting having the Going to the Sun road opened by the 3rd week in June. There will most likely still be snow at the summit just not on the road (I hope).
I guess the real answer is no it won't be too cold, but you may encounter weather and road conditions that will require altering your route or destination. Go for it and have fun.

Be sure to check times that Yellowstone is open. They close certain parts and roads at designated times and WILL NOT let you out afterwards. No Hotels, No tents, plenty cold. Had a couple friends get caught in there.

In June? You should be fine. It will still get pretty chilly in the evenings, but should warm up nicely during the day.
Of course, it should be 75° here now, and we got 4" of snow yesterday.
It will be colder in Yellowstone and in West Yellowstone than in Jackson or down around Jenney Lake and such. Bring your wet weather gear--sudden storms do happen in the mountains, especially in June. Watch the NPS website for road/gate closures in Yellowstone before you go.
If you have more specific questions about routes and such, ask or pm.
You're going to love the riding around here!

In normal years, this time of year is still a little "Iffy". With the late spring we seem to be having, might be cold and wet. Have seen many storms through early and mid June in the area. Also a must is to check on road construction inside the park. As others have said, they close certain roads and lock the gates, usually the east entrance towards Cody during road repairs. Have fun and bring some warm clothes and rain gear.

Really wish I had even more time. I'll check the park web site...in fact looking there it shows alot of the park facilities will be open by then.
Just need to check road conditions and such. If we get there we would likely just be skirting the west side of the park (Old Faithful stop for the Hubby) and out the south towards the Tetons.
Maybe I'll buy that heated gear after all

My wife and I are shipping the bike from the east coast and picking it up in San Fransisco 29 May then heading back east.Yellowstone is one of our stops. Should be there about 2 or 3 June. If the weather is bad at least i know i will not be the only one trying this in early June. Good luck and maybe we will cross paths in the park.

No! Do it! Gawd, I want to go back. It was six days into an eight day road trip, plowing through a canyon in wyoming in my pickup, that I decided its time to ride. Bought a motorcycle two weeks later. Did I mention how bad I want to go back?
Late june was great there, and in glacier national park too. Going to the sun road was still closed for a mile or two at the peak, but there was very little snow left in late june... I think it was closed for construction. It will be worth it.
This is the road that did me in, eastbound after leaving yellowstone:
