Due to the incredibly ridiculous cost of gas, I am commuting almost everyday on my Road King. Anyone else using a touring bike as their main transportation?

 

I have a Heritage. Don't know if that is considered a touring bike or not, but it's big and has saddlebags. I've been commuting on it since I got it. About 700 miles per week back and forth to work.

 

Every day on the RKC. I love it, I love it!

 

Technically, it's not a tourer, but it's damn close. That was the bike I wanted if I couldn't get a Road King. Nice ride bro.

 

Oh, yeah! I'm getting some wet gear so I can tolerate the light rainy days to and from work and not look too much like a drowned rat at work.

Not a touring bike but I do ride my 1200 as a commuter every day about 90 miles.

 

I trade off between the Sportster and Street Glide.

I've been using my RoadKing as my commuter bike on and offfor several years now. Have also used, when I had a job that I could get away with wearing jeans daily at work and didn't have to carry a laptop, a Sucker Punch Sally bobber as my commuter - most funI ever had commuting to work!

Two years ago I bought and used a Yamaha 650 for about 8 months since I had to commute to, and leave my bike outside, in a "seedy" part of New Jersey. Bought the Yamaha used and really didn't care if someone stole it - would have ticked me off if I had my RoadKing stolen. My Sporty, below, is now going into service as my daily commuter bike (that's what the rack on the back is for) as it gets over 48 MPG and I'm tired of abusing my RK.
