Real "Biker"

RE: Real "Biker"
Biker is a catch all phrase. You cannot apply one difinition to the term and then leave everybody else out in the cold. Anyone riding is a biker and I believe there are folks who do not ride that are "bikers". Take the person that has been riding for 50-or 60 years and cann't ride anymore because of health reasons brought on by age. Or the person that has ridden and gotten into a bad accident and no longer can ride. The folks in these catorgories my just be able to dream of riding now, but they are bikers at heart. If the term "biker is important to those people, then they are bikers. Who's to say they are not, ya, even those darn Honda riders are bikers (smiling).
The good news for us on this forum is, riding Harley's may place us all on the pirate side of the biker world, but who cares because everyone knows Harley riders are very "cool". Oh ya! and the six speed-6 gallon tank is nice as well.

RE: Real "Biker"
For all you newbies, a "what is a biker" thread is a good way to work your way into the forum. Every couple months someone has to ask. If I hadn't gotten bored with todays posts, I would have ignored this one. You will find this is in the same catagory as the "fingerless gloves, assless chaps, fringe and I hate stealers" threads.
I just want to welcome you all and hope you find the forum entertaining. For those of you with a more serious bent, try the Political or Religious threads for some hot debate. For you wrench heads this forum has more tech for you than any other I've seen.
If you have questions USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION FIRST! You'll find a wealth of information in past posts. There are hundreds dealing with oil changes/oil types for instance.
PS If you give a dam whether you are a "biker" or not, you might not be.

RE: Real "Biker"
love to ride is first qualifacation. 2nd do what you enjoy and aslong as envolving other, you dont give a damn who likes or dislikes it.
You ride your bike when ever possible and you have guinien love of riding a motorcycles. You do what you want to it because you like it,if other do also thats coll,if they dont then **** um.
if you have to ask your old lady if its ok to change something, then personaly that knocks you out of it.
If your asking then obviously you worry to much what others think and dont really get the true meaning of it.

Hmmm
People who have many more years of experience would call me a Rub or Wannabe, people who don't or have never ridden would call me a biker.
I am just thankful that God allows me to play with these toys!!!

I don't care if people think I'm a biker or not, I ride when I can, but I spend most of my time at work and with my family. So if that catagorizes me as not being a biker to some, who cares.

A biker is the guy who pulls your *** out of a ditch, asks if you are o.k., helps you get your scoot upright and stays there until you get it started or have some sort of ride out of there. When you offer him some cash, he'll tell you to catch up with him next time. Which means, "you may never see me again but, when you see another like me and he needs help, pay me by helping him."
