Default Brake light stays lit. HELP!!

I've got a '95 RK and the damn brake light wont shut off. Activating the front or rear brake has no effect. The brake light stays the same. Any ideas...? Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me you have a switch stuck in the on position.

Have you done, or has any work been done, to the grips, switches, brake lever? Make sure you have solid contactwith brake master cylinder and throttle grip.

I had the same problem after working on thehandlebars, it was the little spring that holds the switch in place on mine.

The overwhelming majority of the time, front brake light switch on the handlebars. Could be a pinched wire there, BUT ensure it IS NOT the switch, B4 tearing anything apart. It is the VERY first thing I look at when someone has a brake light problem.

+ 1 with handlebar issue. My buddy changed out my grips for me and right after he did it my brake light was stuck on.

It is very likely the switch for the front brake. That's what it was on my '95 Roadking. Try pushing the brake lever forward and see if it goes out. The lever just might not be going back to it's right position after you apply the brakes.

If you have had the front controls apart on the right side it might be that you didn't get things back together just right.
