I have been riding for over 40 years. I never wore a helmet to start. No laws to disobey and young enough I thought I would live forever and/or thought I was indestructble. I started wearing a helmet when I got into racing motocross. The only decent helmets available at the time were 3/4. After several years racing and some rather spectacular getoffs I looked at my helmet and realized my head would have taken that abuse if I had not had it on. So now I wear a 3/4 (hard to teach an old dog new tricks syndrome) pretty much all the time.

My SuperSeer (http://www.superseer.com) 3/4 helmet is the most comfortable i've ever worn.

I wear a half helmet I got from the States most of the time but although its DOT approved for the States I don't think its legal in the UK, so I also have a Harley open face helmet just in case. However we get some crap weather over here which is murder when riding with the half helmet. But isnt that the fun of riding??? Bugs, dirt, grit, sh*t and all that!!
