buying a carbon fiber 1/2 for summer...I get hot easy
STFU, If you have to wear one, why not get wear a low profile carbon fiber that sits almost as low as a novelty but will offer lots of protection? Just curious...

 

I have a half, full and novelty.

 

I have a full face and a half helmet....i use the full face mostly for highway and the half for around town and when it gets hot.

 

I have a DOT half, and a novelty. I wear the novelty most of the time. Here in NY, you need a helmet.

 

I mostly wear a DOT half and also have a full face. I like to wear the full face for long trips and use the headset. My wife has both also but perfers the full face. I have friends that wear the novelty and have gotten tickets for non DOT. I figure if I have to wear one might as well be legal.

 

Full Face Arai Signet GTR. Very Comfy on my big ole nog. May get an open helmet, but many years of riding sportbikes taught me to cover my head. Against the law to ride fuzzy around here. I have been hit by rocks, pigeons, nails, beer cans, bottles, pieces of vehicles, dirt clods from construction vehicles, and the occasional bird with diarrhea, so going to open helmet may never happen. Plenty of buds ride with all kinds of lids, but I swear by my Arai. I don't see the point in novelty helmets for me. Been off a few times, and always glad to see that the damage was to the helmet, and not my ugly mug. Saw a paste this summer, rider wearing a novelty helmet, and he is still in the hospital. Damaged his right eye, lifted his scalp, tweaked his ears... Yuk.

I like the half Helmet. My concern is the weight. I broke my neck and I have problems with the weigt of the helmet.

I wear a Shoei X-11 full face. Shoei is the only brand that fits my goofy head right - plus it's lighter than my old Bell skull cap.

 

I wore a DOT half helmet when I went down in your neck of the woods tda back in December. The helmet took alot of abuse but I came out ok. Sticking with 1/2 helmet. Just makes it easier to see and hear around me. (Not that it helped when Phantom Boy cut me off).

i don't need one where i ride so i never got around to getting one tried a few here and there and haven't found one i like yet.
