Thread's old, but things change... I wear a worn out Fulmer 1/2. Need a new one so I am looking for an Akoury, or may a low-profile, lightweight 3/4, if there is such a thing.
Now that I have my Dyna it's a full face. Have an AK88 I wore with my Heritage, I liked it well enough except the occasional bug to the face. I may try it out again once I get a fairing for my Street Bob.
I wear a GMax half helmet . The weight is OK but I find it hot and it has the mushroom effect. I have been looking for a VENTED open face that is better fitting. I received quite a few recommendations here so I will soon have a new helmet!
Since taking the MSF course in 2003 when I started to ride, I have always worn a full face - flip up helmet. Tried riding without it during a heat spell in OK in 2009 and was so uncomfortable had to stop and put it on. Rode for about a minute without it and that was the only time!

My favorite is a small half helmet from Crazy Al’s. I have been searching for another small half helmet with air vents for hot summer days. Only when its below 50 do I consider putting on a 3/4 open face with a bubble. Not feeling the wind and elements just doesn’t seem right.
