My Pythons aren't that bad, but they set off my neighbor's car alarm when I pass it - every time - He could turn his sensitivity down, yethas a hard head and won't. Or is too stupidto even know how.

Good thing I'm in New Orleans, LA -not MI.

I had a Honda Shadow with pretty much stock exhaust that set car alarms off. To that point, I've seen the kids with 1000 watt stereo's set off car alarm but never heard of any town that called a meeting and wanted to band Car Tunes from setting up shop.

I am not certain aftermarketmufflers installed by acitizenowneris really illegal all unto itself.Automobiles are notrestricted to Muffler replacements onlyby the originalbrandedmanufacturer, so have they singledMotorcycles out? I think the Stock mufflers stampings are therefor when a bike is sold brandnew by a dealer they must be on the bike. An owner should be able to use any available replacement mufflerhe desires on the market. If that is not the case then they need to make it illegal to purchase aftermarket mufflers period. Might be more effective.....

What can be illegal is the dB at X feet..... They the LEO is reallyill prepared to properly test that against the written law and prove it correctly. Anylaw saying a bike for the rest of its life can onlyhave an orginal Manufactured Muffler is like having a law you can only usetheoriginal manufacturersreplacement tires, oil, handgrips, handlebars, etc..for the life of the bike. None of it makes sense other then the dB limits.... To loud is to loud no matter what stamp is on the pipe.

Speeding AND loud pipes......
(lucky you didn't get a beer can thrown at you?)

Lesson learned? (the faster you go, the louder your bike is....the QUICKER you go, the louder you bike is.)

You admit you were speeding, you got off with a warning...and you complain complain the 'officer was a 'bit of an ***"? WOW

I try to run the speed limit, but often find myself well over it. I guess with Side Shots coming next week I had better slow down. Came thru a few safety check road blocks with SE slipons and they nevergot a second notice.

I would have been very happy with a warning, that speeding thing increases the insurance not to mention the cost of the tickett. I live in Monroe County and know a couple of LEO's who ride, believe me they love their bikes and SOUND just like the rest of us. I think their a good group of guys. Tim

Were you in town Lapeer? I used to live just east of town around the corner from Ray C's.Parent's are in North Branch, and I ride that way about once a week. Just wondering where in the county you ran into trouble.
