RE: The biker look and career choice. A question.
I'am a Gold and Silversmith. Change my look constantly. Depends on the day. Have 1 tatoo on my arm high up. No troubles at work, but I don't deal with the public . . .
Ahhh, hair with beard [&:];
no hair with goatee Daddy-o thang [8D];
Combo hair with some facial. Even momgets cOnFuSeD;
Sue me, I like to be elusive.

RE: The biker look and career choice. A question.
I'll chime in, as a female.... I'm a professional hydrogeologist with the feds (EPA- U.S. Enviromental Protection Agency) in a high rise office building in the middle of downtown Seattle. I've been in the field for 28 years, and can pretty much wear what I want. I used to work on a Boeing site, and show up for early morning meetings just off my bike, with helmet in hand, leathers on, and I'd keep my jacket on throughout the meeting if it was cold in the room. Sometimes I was even the one running the meetings with other staff in suits! Everyone was really friendly about my dress, and never gave me any grief. Same here for EPA management... they need the senior scientists, so they really don't give a hoot if I come in in jeans, cowboy boots, etc... every day (which I do!). I guess it just matters if you do your job really well, they need you, and you're not obnoxious(and of course don't have a mandatory dress code).

I wouldn't ever get a tat myself. I do have the shaved head and my ear pierced tho I haven't put an earring in it in years now...

I have 12 tats; most from my days in the Navy; and I have really long hair. I work as a Quality Analyst in manufacturing so looks aren't as important as job quality.
