Default Planning a trip to the U.P. Michigan

Myself and a handful of friends and family are planning a trip to the U.P. We are planning to visit Milwaukee first then go around Chicago to the east side of Lake Michigan then north. Any good roads that are a must to travel or small town watering holes we should stop at. Thanks in advance.

When you get over here to the "mitten" state and want to take some time I would follow RedArrow road out of St. Joe/ Benton Harbor to Blue star Hiway to South Haven, Blue Star hiway to Sagautuck on to Holland, U.S.31 toGrandHaven and on , follow the roads that skirt the shores of Lake Michigan lots of old towns and nice little cafes/restaraunts. Honestly I would get a good map and plan your route there's way too many good rides and not enough space to type it all in. Enjoy the trip.

My one place I think is a must see in the U.P is the Keweenaw Peninsulathe run the west side from the bottom to the top ending in Copper Harbor is great. Then run down the east side and you can stop at the Gay Bar in Gay Michigan. It's about the only thing in town. Lots to see and do up there just do a search. Have fun sound like a good time.

Follow 31 north along the lake...you will find lots of nice towns. One small town, Frankfort, I lived in for a few years 20 plus years ago...There used to be a good bar there owned by some bikers, it was called Bakers Bar. Ive seen motorcycles riden in the back door and out the front...even saw a horse inside that bar one time.
