RE: DO YOU COUNTER-STEER?
Here is a pretty good article I found. http://www.stevemunden.com/countersteering.html. You can agree with me or be wrong but you don't HAVE to countersteer to turn a bike. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't though.

RE: Funny
Your right!!
Only time without useing countersteering on two wheelsis parking lot maneuvers or u-turns.
Both are (very slow going).
Other than that, on two wheelsyou're using countersteering whether you know it or not.
Unless you're on abike with a sidecar or a trike, neither usecountersteering.

You can't counter steer a bagger when you are going 5 mph. Or counter steer to turn a U-EY!

RE: DO YOU COUNTER-STEER?
He probably does and doesn't know it or doesn't want to admit it.
The one guy above is right. A scooter with turn without your hands - everbody knows that. You can shift weigh by leaning, pressing on a footrest, throwing a leg out.
But there are a lot of riders that don't aggresively use counter-steering (ie. to avoid hazards).
I just think they should be required to learn how (in the DMV test).

RE: DO YOU COUNTER-STEER?
The other day I was riding on the freeway and there was a guy riding his bike in the inside lane. He wanted to pass the car in front of him so he threw his weight to theright to change lanes. It was an overly exagerated weight shift. He then did the same when he moved back to the inside lane. It looked like he was just throwing his entire upper body into the lane he wanted to move to.

RE: DO YOU COUNTER-STEER?
Counter steering simply gets the bike leaned over quicker by throwing the front wheel in the opposite direction of turn and thus you can corner quicker. A bike turns when you just lean, however, counter steering gives you quicker and more responsive control when initiating the turn. So counter steering is not a requirement to make a bike turn, it just does a better job of getting things going.

that's still counter steering, it's just weight induced instead of front wheel induced. Front wheel still does the same thing.
