3 Yr. warranty in Japan, WTF???
In reviewing Harley's business statements, I noticed that they offer Japanese riders a full three year warranty on their Harleys. I know why they're doing it. That's obvious. It's what the competition offers in Japan. Isn't this exactly what the big drug companies do when they sell their drugs for half the price in other countries? Seems it might incentivize more new buyers here in the states. I think it would be great to have the same warranty in the U.S.
What doyou think?

Forget Japan. It would be nice if they matched the warranties offered here....
Here's Honda's on tour bikes

Yamaha has five years on their top of the line tour model. The rest appear to be just one year.

I would love to know what the Japanese pay for a New Harley in their market. I would be suprised if it is 2or 3 times what we pay here in the states.

It's not much more than in the states depending on the yen rate. For example, a new Crossbones over here is about $22K out the door at todays yen rate. It would only be about $18K at a 120 yen to the dollar rate which was the rate when I bought my bikes 5 years ago. They didn't have the 3 year warranty then...

Well both my KLR and my V-strom only came with 12 month warranties. I will say that the extended warranties are significantly cheaper but then so was the price of each bike.
