Default HD of allen texas.Lost a customer today

I was preparing to buy a new heritage today so I decided to call all the local dealers to compare prices before chosing the right dealer to deal with.(I have 5 differnt dealers with 80 mile radius),so I started calling.I tlked to a saleman named rick at the allen store,he was the most arrogant person ive ever dealt with over the phone. When he finally got around to telling what the bikes were selling for I almost fell out my chair. They were 1600 dollars over msrp and 1700 dollars higher than the Paris texas store. When I asked why I was told it was because they were in the Dallas market area and thier bikes would bring more money.I explained I was a repeat customer but that didnt help.I have spent 38.000.00 there since last year including a new bike and accessories.Needless to say I bought from the Paris Texas store. My salesman was Brad and he did a super job.Rick from Allen lost a commission because of attitudeand high prices, and HD of Dallas lost a customer for life.I will never spend another dime there.I just needed to vent about my days experiance. Thanks for reading

Perfect for "The BAD experiences and Dealers" thread. Cut and paste this there too! Everyone needs to know.

Glad you had somewhere else to go! Just because you work with Harley-Davidson doesn't mean you can treat everyone like your personal paycheck!!

JMHO!!!!

Hate it when that happens, at least there was a good ending for you. My nearest and only store in this island state is 200km away, luckily they are good to deal with.

As I shopped for my bike, I checked with 4 different dealers, the price was as high as 6K more for some. Needless to say at bought at the lowest price, not the closest dealer.

When it comes to how a customer is treated, it just blows me away how some dealers don't now just how fast word can travel. More and more people now communicate through messageboards and forums more than ever before. You'd think they'd take that into consideration.

Glad you found not only a good deal, but most importantly a dealer that appears to respect their customers.

You should call the owner of the dealership and tell him this story.

Cheers!

Better yet, you should write to the dealer with a copy to HD-Milwaukee and the Better Business Bureau. That'll wake'em up!

I shopped 7 different dealers and the deals kept getting better with each visit.

My experience says that usually it all starts at the top. Perhaps it's not true here, may be an absent owner, but most places with crappy customer service have an owner who doesn't give a damn about customers just their money.
