Momma and me are flying to Palm Springs at the end of the month for a few days of R&R and I wouldn't mind renting a bike to see some country around there. Haven't called the local dealer but their web site doesn't say anything about renting.

Before I start making calls, does anyone have experience renting there, andany good day trip recommendations?

Eaglerider has rentals in Palm Springs. Eaglerider.com Never rented from them but one of the largest Harley rental outfits in the southwest.

 

Palm Springs is beautiful but starting to get hot now.Nice ride up over the mtns and into either LA or San Diego county to enjoy the coastline.

 

I agree nice place to ride. Never rented a bike there only golf clubs and wasn’t impressed, [:@]good clubs must just be me. Hope you do better.

 

My husband and I rented from them a month ago. They treated us well. There is nice riding up in the mountains.Cooler too. Had lunch at Idyllwild. Nice spot

They are right at the PS Airport at the luggage/arrival area beside the car rentals. Give them a call and book ahead. They have a moderate selection of bikes. Book your day(s) and be there a little early on pick up day. One man show and lots of paperwork. They open at 9:00 am but we were there at 8:30. Lucky for us.

They offer helmets but we brought ours. Easy drop off right outside their door at the airport. You can park your rental car or whatever in the long term parking at the airport if needed and it's a short walk to their location Hope this helps

I live in Palm Springs area, Eagle Rider at the Airport is the way to go, I have used them on several occasions before I moved here full time so I didnt have to rent a cage.
They have decent selection of bikes and they serviced pretty regularly.

It is a great time of year right now, not too hot, nice breeze and plenty of things to see

 

palm springs can be a very nice place to ride go up in the mountains , ride up to the tram and go to the top of the mountain great view and tram ride. go south or north and take one of the more senic roads lots of gently twisties. weather should be great this time of year not to hot 90+ up high it will get chilly so take a jacket..

 

I would recommend riding the Pines to Palms Highway 74 heading towards San Diego. Also, Eagle Rider at the airport is definitely the way to go for a rental.

 

My daughter and I had a desert jeep tour planned. Well it rained, so we rented a bike. We were treated very well had made some long lasting memorys. I can recommend Josha Tree National Park. It is about 94 miles of the most beautiful vistas. And this was in January. Cold in the high country

Remember to gas up and consider picking up a sandwhich at the little cafe near the park enterence. Speed limit is 45 on a blacktop. Really beautiful. At the end you can gasup at the I10 and make the run back to PS.

Two years ago, my wife and I rented an Electra Glide Classic through the HOG fly and ride program. Everything went well...$600 for 7 days...insurance included...no hidden charges...you had to provide your own helmet. We had a great vacation

Be sure to take in Idyllwild. Take 74 to 243 north to Idyllwild. Continue north on 243 to Banning (HWY 10)

If you feel like riding a little further south, east of San Diego, you can go to Palomar Mountain: Hwy 76 to S6 to S7 back to HWY 76.

Another nice ride...HWY 79 to Julian....continue south on 79 to Sunrise HWY (S1). Take it south to HWY 8.
