Windshield...Not sure why anyone would want to ride without one. I don't care about the wind in my face thing. I want comfort.

Since you brought it up...why would I want to ride without a windshield?

Here goes...if I have to explain...well, you know...

Ever notice guys without windshields tend to trailer their bikes anytime they go further than the nearest bar?

I usually have both a windshield and glasses. Sometimes I have a face shield as well. Tough to replace eyeballs.

This is pure crap! I have ridden my windshieldless Supeglide on numerous trips, including Chicago to Sturgis, numerous times.None of my bikes have ever been on a trailer, and you will rarely see any of my bikes parked in front of any bar. I enjoy riding the Superglide with no windshield and I also like the Ultraclassic with the windshield. I can see the merrits of both with and without and I enjoy both with and without a windshield. Apparently some people feel the need to justify themselves by criticizing anything that anyone does that doesn't conform to what they think a "real biker" would do.

To each his own. I ride an Ultra, wear wrap around sunglasses, and a face shield over 70 mph. I still get crap in my eyes, but I'm sure it is a lot less than no protection. I also don't get bombarded with bugs, gravel, and anything else that comes at me. I don't ride a motorcycle as a form of self inflicted injury, but rather to enjoy the ride. Like someone else said, eyes aren't replacable. And mine dry out real easy too.

Goggles or glasses depending on the weather. I almost never ride without my windshield, it seems to be bad luck. If I take it off it rains, for that same reason I always have rain gear in the baggs. Call me supersticious (did I spell that right?) but it has happened too many times. It seems the only reason for having a detachable for me is ease of cleaning.
