Does running out of gas affect any part of the engine??????? Seems like mympg has gone down since I ran out of gas.

 

Never heard of it before.Maybe u have somthin else wrong.

It causes a lean run condition and can burn valves and burn holes in the pistons, although that is rare. Mostly it doesn't hurt if you don't do it very often.

 

It sucks all the crap from the bottom of your tank into the fuel filter.
Would that hurt mileage? Probably not but it sure cant help anything. It will run the engine lean.
Not a good thing.
Wouldnt hurt to change the fuel filter.
