When you grab throttle in second gear the front end either gets very light or actually lifts a little. I'm not sure which. I haven't tried to see what the front wheel is doing.
Ride when the suns going down you can see the shadow, on my DX i have not seen the front wheel lift from going wide open in second at all[>:] maybe im not trying hard enough, but the forks lift up a lot try it on the D i wonder if the tire will lift off or not with the different setup...

Congrats on the fatbob you would have been pleased with either of them both have their strong and weak points, the vrod dosent like to go slow, the engine lugs at 1000-1500 rpms and likes to loaf around 4000-5000 in most gears and the motor smoothes out and there is very very little vibration, it goes 50ish in first gear so it makes slow speed trickling tough, i find myself having trouble getting into 4th on anything but the highway

Try this, keep a little up pressure on the shifter in first, take itWOT to the rev limiter and keep the throttle wide open. If you have the right pressure on the shifter it will slip right in to second. At least on the DX you are in the right position for this little maneuver if you haven't changed your bars. The bike will come up. Way up, so be ready. When I first heard about this, I had to try it. I didn't know the bike would come all the way up. It's a good thing I know how to wheelie, and I have mid controls. It's not hard to ride a V-rod back down to a soft landing. It's just like riding a dirt bike down.

I recommend "not". Let's keep your ride shiny and in one piece. If you want to do wheelies, get an old beater dirt bike.

Congratulations on the FatBob. You'll love it. I traded my 03 Vrod for my FatBob because I wanted to slow down. The bikes fit me about the same. Similar foot position, bar reach and seat positon. It's just heavier. And slower. And not as smooth. Or as fast. It's just what I wanted. Classic styling. Enjoy.
