RE: Do you/should you let your bike warm up befor riding?
My Bob is the first EFI bike I've owned. I start it up and put on whatever gear I'm wearing that day. Usually by then it's dropped to slow idle. If not, I wait a minute until it does. Then I head out and ride fairly gently for the first mile before putting any heavy loads on the engine. Really not a whole lot different than a carbed bike except that it's ready for the road a bit quicker I don't have to work the choke.

Don't have a lot of neighbors close by and the next door neighbor is a rider as well. But I try not to let the bike run for more than a couple of minutes before I take off for work. Just trying to be considerate of the folks around here.

I usually run it up for a minute or two before I head off. I just want to make sure the oil is flowing before I head off. The time it takes for me to pull on my helmet, gloves & riding glasses is enough. Takesa few minuteslonger on my carbed metrics.

A couple minutes,ok,any longer than that is not good for a large displacement air cooled engine. This is probably the #1 cause of blued pipes.

I also let it initially warm up a couple of minutes, but it sure seems like a looooooong time!

owner manuals on my old sporty 1200 and my new bones reads warm for at least 15-30 seconds before riding. the bones is my first EFI, but have become used to the usual 30+ second wait on my sporty so still sticking with it.
