When I did mine the throttle side was the easiest,,, I have cruise and the left side was a PITA,,, but I finally got it. Lots of good advise above,,, good luck with it.

 

You guys know by now I'm an old bike guy but I can never get an explaination why this chrome stuff is so necessary, it will never make the bike run any better and I think it's kinda out of style by now anyway. But hey if you want to loose parts and spend half the day looking for things, I guess??? Anyway my old trick was to roll the bike on a spread out white bedsheet before you start.

 

I like the way you think old bike guy. Hope I think like that too ....when I'm old. BTW How do I get the bike on the bed.
