Who Rides With A Guardian Bell?
#382
Never had a bell til I got my 09 Ultra, dealer gave me one and put it on the bike. 10 days later son rear ended me and wrecked both bikes, Left the bell there even though I never wrecked on the street before. Wondering if I should remove it, I dont gamble and not particularly superstitious.

Only person I ride with that doesn't is a motorcycle safety course instructor. So far he's had one near total and 2 near misses but with slight damage. That doesn't included at least 1 or maybe 2 breakdowns. I bought him one two months ago and he still doesn't have it on or even in the saddlebags.
Great guy but he just doesn't get it yet.

I had never heard of the guardian bells. I really like the tradition behind this. I believe more in karma than superstition (though they are closely related). I have yet to receive one, but would most certainly attach it to my ride, were I to get one.
right before I started riding (which was just this past summer) my kids bought me a really cool "motorcycle" ring (e.g. it's big, pretty bad-*** looking... not something I would wear to the office). I ALWAYS wear it when I ride, I think for similar reasons for why people ride with the bells.
I also never drink before riding, received proper training, and am ATGATT... I do my best to create my own luck/karma. But the guardian bell would be great!
regards,
Drew

It is said that the bell's power is doubled when given to you as a gift. Mine hangs from
the left floor board bracket. It was given to me by a friend that is no longer with us. It was originally on my previous bike, so I'm hoping that it still has it's full power. Just couldn't bare to part with it.
