Never had a bell on the metrics back in the day... roll of electricians tape in back pocket saved my azz once though, slid about 75 feet with just that tape between me and the road, it was shaped like a door jam when I stopped sliding.

Have had a bell on each Harley and would have to say they've done their job, either in saving me or the scoot from major issues. Went off a road in the mountains in northern New Mexico a few years ago and "plowed" to a stop in a very small patch of sand. When I got up and looked if I had missed that 6 foot wide patch of sand I would have gone off a 30 foot drop into a concrete drainage culvert... I'm pretty sure I'd still be there.

All motorcycles in my garage have bells - wouldn't want to tempt those little fellers any more than necessary.

 

Have one so far, it's a police shield [sm=smiley30.gif] and hangs from my right front axle. So far it's given me [sm=signs003.gif]!!!

 

yep got one from wifey...hangs right between the downtubes above the voltage regulator...has a maltese cross on one side, and what looks to be some kind of roman gladiator/norse god helmet on the other

can anyone hear theirs while riding? i can @ slow speeds..guess its bangin' on the downtubes

 

haven't had one......till tonight. I got one for my birthday. I really hope it doesn't change my luck.....I've had real good luck so far without one

 

Girlfriend was looking over my shoulder one day when I was looking at the bells and picked me up this one........


It hangs from the frame right under the right footboard.

One on my Ultra - On the frame crossmember right above the voltage regulator.

One on the Wifes bike lower frame near the footpegs.
