Default Won't go into neutral

I fixed my problem - cable had too much freeplay. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

watie

I am having a difficult time getting my bike to go into neutral, either from 1st up or 2nd down. I have to shut the bike off to get it to slip in there, and shifting 1st and 2nd also a little more difficult than couple days ago, and downshifting from 4th on down. Anyone have any suggestions.

It's not that new anymore (4200 miles), and remember the issue when it was, this is something different, shifting difficulty/heaviness, that wasn't there when the bike was new.

For the most part, a lot of HD's do this. I've got close to 9k and Irarely find neutral.Synthetic Oil didn'thelp either.

Just hold in the clutch at traffic signals....

I guess concerned a little because this just started a couple days ago, up to then had no trouble at all.

Make sure you are idling at 1k RPM when you try. If you're idle is set lower than 1k, then you might experience this problem.
