Poor woman!!!! you have to give your self enough room in front of you so that you can "Stop" if not you are going to hit something from behind.....

Wow. Sad. Her hubby must feel terrible
Surely. Even if it wasn't his fault at all. She couldn't brake. She couldn't stop in time. Her fault entirely. Let this serve us as a lesson.
Two seconds from the preceding vehicle is absolutely the shortest distance adviceable. Three is better. On a wet road, with a vehcile with the poor braking performance of most bikes, more is safer.
Unfortunately it's not always easy, with èpeople barging in in the room you left for your safety...

This is an extremely sad story, BUT, someone's gotta say it: It's her own damn fault for following too f'ing close! I HATE anyone who follows me too close, whether it be a bike or a car. It's not safe for the person behind me and it's not safe for ME! If you're not going to drive safe then I could really care less if you die.
Someone's gotta say it: Thats a ****ed up thing to say!!

I stand by what I said, but I wanted to reinforce what I said also. If a person gets in a wreck due to something completely out of their control and they were doing everything properly to protect themselves then yes, that's an extremly unfortunate turn of events. OR, if they were not properly trained or improperly trained on how to ride, then it's very unfortunate as well.

However, like some sportbike riders out there, if a rider is going to do something unsafe knowingly, (such as riding too close behind a car knowing that they would rear end it if they slam on their brakes but you don't want to back off for one reason or another) THEN I could care less if they die. That's just one less person being stupid on the road causing traffic and confusion because they don't want to obey the laws.

Still a cold hearted thing to say there TAWoody. We dont know if it was following to close or another factor involved. She may have had a mechnical difficulty last I saw the accident was still pending investigation.

I agree

The lesson here - don't follow anyone to close...for what ever reason.

How sad and unfortunate. He must just be beside himself.
Momma's oldest daughter is the "tailgater from H*LL".
I run 'one' old drum brake on the back of the chop, distance following is a "life" saving maneuver. Stay back folks, that 2 or 3 seconds you are going to save, if that, is NOT worth the risk. PERIOD. Just look what it is meaning to this family. Please pay attention and, stay back and alive.
God Speed to the family and friends of this woman.

I do feel badly whenever a tragedy occurs, she was following to closely and fck a dog with your wife on a motorcycle behind you, but still I do feel badly for them.

For those not from Indiana those are some very scenic roads that are very popular riding destinations, but there are alot of tragic accidents down there. I think that it is the most dangerous part of Indiana to ride and many riders who don't know their limitations, casual riders, meet a bad accident around there. And they still flock there. That was a good hour and a half ride from Noblesville where they lived, or more.
