Freedom Rock in Rural Iowa
Just thought I would let folks that aren't in the know about this place. It's a source of great pride for those of us who have seen this place and it's artist. We pass by here every time we go to the in-laws, and make a point of stopping every once in awhile to admire it. Yesterday we finally got to go by it on the bike so stoppped and took some pics. Hopefully I can get them posted here!

Where exaclty is this? I live in the Des Moines are and have never heard or seen this. Thank you for posting. Somewhere I need to ride to this summer.

Thanx, Rax. My cousin lives over by Davenport, and she emailed me pics of the "Rock" last year, but didn't know where it was at. (Her friend had taken the pics)
Thanks for the post, it has the directions. I would LOVE to putt down there if we get to Algona this year. A couple of years ago, Momma and I started stopping at sites like this, and taking pics of 'The Cap'n' sitting in front of them.
And AGAIN, for those of you who are unaware, those ppl in Iowa, the 'Iowegians'
, DO KNOW HOW to put on bike rallys and runs. Either that, or we are just REALLY lame up here.
