RE: cleaning your bike
It would probably be a shorter list for me to write what products I haven't used. I will recommend a few to you, though. I like the S101 line. Lemon Pledge. Protect All.

IN ORDER:
1. Windex-Dissolves bugs QUICK, use with a red shop rag
2. Spray on polisher - the stuff at Harley or Honda, etc. I hear Lemon Pledge is the same
When the dust in the cracks and crevices gets to be too much, then I use the self service car wash, ensuring that I don't direct the spray at electrical stuff, in fact most of the time the water that comes out when the handle ISN'T pressed is sufficient for doing the majority of the work....then dry it off and use the polish after riding it home to blow most of it out by windspeed...I guess If I had the setup, I'd get the dryer and all, but this works for me.
Lastly, cleaning regularly allows me to check the bike over for loose stuff, and cinch down the muffler clamps, etc. that always come loose.[&:]
I always start at the top, i.e. the mirrors and work my way down, like to keep the frame polished!

Any old car wash that is on sale as long as there isn't wax in it. Mothers Chrome polish and Harley gloss. Wash it about once a week. I may strip the old wax and sealer off the tins when it warms up a bit here in a few weeks and start from scratch. Haven't decided what products I will use once I do that.

The one product that has drastically lessened the amount of time I have to spend cleaning the bike is a forced air dryer. A lot of guys (knuckle draggers)use leaf blowers and others use the Metro Vac style dryers. They sure make life a lot easier. (no offence intended to you knuckle draggers out there)

I did go to the bike store, the only one open on Sundays. BoughtS-100 and a can of Can-Do spray wax. Its made here in Nebraska so I figured id support the "local" guy.
