Toughguy or not?

Toughguy or not?
I was talking to an old friend today who moved away and recently moved back to the area. In this time he has acquired a custom chopper. I am yet to see this bike but he has it. Anyway, back to my topic of the post. This guy has always been a "Man'sMan." He is a contractor and plumber and was someone whom I always thought of as a person who would never get phucked with by anyone. A little taller than myself and a lot more gruff. Goatee. You get the picture.
So he recounted the tale of how he had come to shave off his goatee finally. He is a member of a certain anonymous program and was attending one of their meetings. He had a certain MC club's support shirt on that he got in Laconia last year. There were 3 people from a rival MC at this "meeting." Keep in mind he is NOT a member of any MC. After the meeting ended they proceeded to engage in aggressive negotiations with hand and fist combat in a manner which if only temporarily altered the cosmetic appearance of their unfortunate opponent, and the number teeth that he had. These aggressive negotiations were initiated by the said MC members.
Ever since this happened to my friend he decided he doesn't need to look like a tough guy anymore and has inturn shaved off his goatee. He informed me "I ain't no tough guy."

RE: Toughguy or not?
Keep in mind I am not writing this to shine a light on anything bad in anyway. I personally have never had a bad experience with anyone in anyway such as I described. I don't want this to turn into any sort of bashing or to get shut down. Merely recounting someone's experiences.

It doesn't matter how tuff you are or think you, are not not many people are going to come out ahead at 3 to 1.

There are a lot of ways to be tough. Knowing your limitations is one of those.
