Default Planning a trip.....

I am in the very early stages of planning a cross country trip from NYC to California. Let me get right to the question. Has anyone ever tried using the members here to help with the routing, places to stay and see, advice, and even seeing if they could offer lodging along the way?

I figured it can't hurt to ask.

I'm not sure how much response you'll get in the general chat area. You might want to post your question in the Road Trip forum.

What is your preliminary route? Let me know if you plan on riding through Utah.

People have done this beofre and if I recall it has always worked out well. Members meet with you and ride you through their part of the country the best way they know. If I ever go cross country I'll do it.

I'm right on the way, let me know when youre doing this. My wife and I have a little "motel" room that you can stay in. (If she doesnt have it booked) Several bikers have stayed here, especially around Sturgis time.

I made several posts in the Road Trip section with specific questions about my route and found the responses to be invaluable. One member actually saved me from a 40 mile dirt road in Arizona! I would have been looking for that turnoff all day.
