I average around 8-10,000 a year...course I'm retired, and if it's notpouring rainor I need to go to Kroger's, my truck doesn't leave the house, I'm on the bike...

I have had my bike about 2 1/2 years (06 model)and am about to turn 51,000 on it. So in my case, I average about 20,000 miles a year. I know some guys that have 2000-2001 models that have10,000 to15,000miles on them. My guess would be "average" would be 5-6K.

Im always amazed at ads for 4-5 year old Harleys that have 10k on them. I wonder why they even bought it in the first place. I put 15-20k kilometers on per season,which here in Nova Scotia is from April to December.

15,000-20,000 a yr for me,BUT the last two yearshave been bad due to myshoulder,but had surgery in Oct so now Iam good to go....YeeHaaaa
I used to put on 148 miles a day justto work and back alone,now its only 57 both ways(changed jobs).....

Well, the market for late-model Harleys is just full of bikes with <5,000 miles. So if you are comparing your bike's mileage to others on the market because you want to sell it/trade it in, then go by that figure.
If you are just curious and want to see how yours compares to other people's Harleys, then you will get a huge diversity of opinion. Some just ride their bikes on Sunday afternoon (I know a woman at work selling her four-year old Harley that has only 610 miles on it!). Some ride then as daily transportation and also use them for a serious summer road trip or two. For the latter group, I would think that 15,000 miles a year is about normal for most North Americans.

I average about 12-15,000 a year, that comuting to work, prepping rides for our chapter, and leading rides. And I have only ridden 500 miles from home.
