I researched this a while back and the best one I was able to find was the Kryptonite New York Evolution series. If you pre-submit their paperwork, they offer a partial rebate of your insurance deductible if your scoot should get stolen. I've used it a few times and it is definitely a deterent. The link of the one I got is attached http://www.kryptonitelock.com/Produc...2&pid=1194

"Deterent" is the key word. If a prowants it, they cantake it.

I've heard that the Caliper locks are good as well.

Where do you plan to run the chain(Length, Thickness, and Constraints)?

Not trying to be a smarta$$, it's just that some folks think a chain will really stop someone. It only slows em down a few seconds.

Here's the cable I use. It's one of the toughest on the market. If a thief wants to carry around a commercial guillotine style cable cutter and a sledge hammer, he's welcome to the bike. When traveling I usually just cable two bikes together. If alone I'll lock it to a post or other permanent structure. Rolls up small enough to carry anywhere.

I don't have any locks, but if I ever leave Montana, I probably should get some.

I have a friend who just uses four brake disc locks on the front and a U-lock on the rear wheel. His rationale is that each one is easy enough for a thief, but the sum of them would take too long, and together they all weigh less than a "New York" chain lock.

It seems clever, but, then again, he can also be an idiot. Maybe his plan is idiotic.

According to BikeWorld, the BadA$$ chain and lock combo comes from a German Company: ABUS See: http://www.lockitt.com/chain2.htm#ChainAbusMaxSec

I have a cobra links cable. The best cable lock I have seen. Its six foot long and locks on itself. Stainless armoured stainless cable system with plastic protective cover to protect the bike. Chain the bike frames together or chain bike frame to solid object. If someone wants the bike they can defeat any lock system. All I am doing is making them work harder. If its too much trouble they might move to an easier target.
