Default "Mans Space"...Garage Ideas

[sm=confused06.gif]Ok so finally fixing up a stall in the garage for "my space". Would love some ideas. Show me some pics of things you all have done. Think I am gonna build some inexpensive cabinets, maybe some diamond plate accents....IDEAS????

First thing to consider. What's the main purpose of your shed. Just for wrenching or to get away from the miss's.
Some things I have installed in mine,
- decent hifi, TV(old) and Internet (to look up info)
- decent lighting (incl.Dimmer)
- Filled fridge (food, alcoh. and non alc.)
- Microwave (that way you don't have to get inside with greasy clothes for a quick snack )
- 1 "work" tabel (about 2 square meters total)
- 1 "all the rest" table
- closet for oils, cleaning productsand JD .
- and ofcourse all the posters and foto's that keep you interested.

A friend of mine has built himself a cabine in his backyard (more like an estate[>:]). has a Wurlitzer jukebox, sofa, beer on tap, pool table and fireplace to.
Just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

Have fun

Be careful...

I set up my space in the garage with my computer... got a flat screen monitor mounted on the back of the work bench so that I can still use the bench for work space when needed... got my printer set off to the side... got my phone mounted on the wall just above and off to the side of the monitor... Got a nice drafting chair to sit on...

The problem is that I made too nice... Now the wife has moved in.... She has bloody well taken over... It got the point that I had to buy another computer for her to use as she was always using mine...

The only thing she does not like is the 24/7 webcam that is on the wall... My friends can look in at anytime to see what I'm doing to the bikes...

You have been warned....
speak of the devil, here she comes... with her lunch....

Here's a picture of my garage shortly after I reworked it. It doesn't look anything like this now as I am rebuilding a '71 Jeep now and a lot more cluter. The more you can keep off the floors the easier it will be to clean.

Not a good picture. I have stuff stored on the left side for my basement remodel, but here is the right half.

Lots of counter space is a huge plus. I also saw this hydralic, in ground, lift. The hole only has to be 10" diameter... Now, that is cool. I only have a small two car garage. It is full... way full. I do have a couple of amenities, like a fridge and cable tv... and, of course, a stereo system. I sure wish I had more room, though.

In my next house, I will have my own garage... it has already been agreed upon, LOL. In ground lift, TV, Stereo, and I would like a vac system for the power tools... don't forget to get dedicated electrical drops, seperate from the rest of the house... the more, the better... Plus, if I had the room, I would love to set up a paint/powder booth. And an oven to cure the parts... In my head, it is all laid out...
