Along the garage line...how much do you think it would cost to build a 12' X 16' with concrete floor and vinyl siding? Probably unfinished inside as I can insulate and finish that later.....

Just curious what your thoughts are?

Does anyone know where to get stainless for the countertop part of the workbench? Don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it.

Not enough info. What kind of roof, windows, door(s) etc.? Electricity and/or plumbing to it??

DIY or contractor?

Do you need a permit? You would here - about $1,000 including plan check fee. You can build up to 120 sq feet portable here with no permit, but no slab. Has to be on blocks.

Ask your building dept for requirements, sketch a rough plan?

My dad and my girlfriends dad just put up new "toy boxes". My dads is 30 x 48 and houses our Harleys and his 69 Chevelle SS 396, 63 Belair and 2001 Camaro SS. Its filled with car, military and Harley trinkets. He put in several ceiling fans, and tons of lights. Put in LOTS of outlets too! A dehumidifier in the midwest is a must for winter storage...the spring thaw puts moisture on EVERYTHING and INSIDE all our engines.

Girlfriends dad accented his in diamond plate instead of wood base board and window molds. Black and white checker tile floor. 42" flat screen, surround sound, karaoke machine, HD Slot machine, bar quality shuffle board and several pub tables and stools. His pub tables he covered with glass and put a bunch of riding pictures under glass. His is also has the walls covered with HD and military decorations. The skys the limit, just depends on your check book!

And don't foget a good fridge to keep your ummm, pop and juice cold! LOL

I envy you guys with large garages. My 2-car is small. IfI wanted to keep my cars in the driveway, I could do somethng similar on a smaller scale, but I like my cars too much to do that. I've thought about a mini-warehouse, but most don't have electrical or it costs to much if they do. I've even thought about finding a commercial warehouse that may lease space to several individuals to use.

I would love a nice lift but way outa my budget. Wife is already complaining and I only spent $100 on supplies and built some kick a$$ cabinets and work bench.
