belt drive shovel where get one

BDL, Primo both make them if you are talking primary.
I have enclosed1 1/2" BDL on both my pan and shovel.
Also, I use them to "overdrive" the tranny, more road speed for same RPM or less RPM for the same speed. This is what Baker did with their 6spdDD(direct drive). Get's rid of the power drop that you experience with an overdrive tranny.
If you are talking final drive, Google and search Harley Sturgis. First dual belt drive model, then start hitting swaps.
Gotta run, headed to Donnie Smith Show this mornin'. PM me if you want.

I installed a rivera unitwith a pro clutch ona 69. Broke the belt when I was running it very hard and only about 3K miles. I've replaced it since and have about another 4k trouble free. Its closed and originally I milled some spacers for the covers to let the heat out/cool air in. I dont think it was enough and have installed vented inspection and clutch covers.

I'm running a Primo (Rivera) on my Sloptail. They make 'em for Shovels, too. My '78 had a Primo on it years ago. As stated, BDL makes 'em, too. I have heard both good and bad about BDL, with the bad related to customer service. Another outfit to check with, especially if on a budget, is Karata. http://www.karata.com/ I had a Karata on my '72 XLCH way back when the belts were Gilmer-type square teeth. It was super reliable, and it even ran in the wet tranny/primary of the XL. Whatever you do, ventilate it well. heat buildup will kill the belt in short-short.

I am still runing chain final and primary drives on my shovel. What is wrong with chain? A little oil never hurt anything. All the crotch rockets run chain and run 180 mph with no problems.
