Watch the light when you turn the bike on, if the light goes out and then comes back on for more than 10 seconds then it's telling you there is a problem somewhere. It could be any number of things, I believe the ones related to the security light are usually electrical.

 

Have you had any problems with your neutral light intermitenly coming on? I remember this being a problem with some of the 07's. If you have seen that, the red light is trying to tell you there is a fault in the neutral switch. I think there is a msb out for this and you dealer should replace it under warrenty.

Take it in and let Harley read the codes logged into the computer when the light comes on after initial FI charging. This lead me to dump my PC and switch to SE Race Tuner.

 

My '07 FXST was doing something similar, the red key light would come on at different times, along with the orange check engine light. I do not have the security system. It continued to get worse, along with other idiot lights coming on and going off. Dealer FINALLY replaced the entire speedo unit in the dash (warranty) and the problem went away. This was after they replaced the ECM and the Turn Signal/Security Module.

Getting a competent service department makes all the difference. A tech that knows how to run diagnostics on these computer-controlled bikes can find that kind of problem in no time.

 

I hate it when my invisible sidecar sets codes.

I'm gonna hate gettin my bike out,,,, forgot all about all the gizmos and gadgets,fobs,flashers, blinks, chirps,disks,..... fuggin A life dont get EZier!

 

mine has been in the shop 4 times maybe 5 for that and after a short time the key fob does not reconize me so if I turn it off I get to walk home. Local dealer can't fiqure out if it is warranty or not since sometimes I pay and sometimes mother harley pays but the problem is always the same.People talk about H~D quality, well with my new bike I would rather not ride further that I care to walk home from.

 

I just imputed my personal pin in case the battery goes dead on the fob or whatever reason it doesn't work. It would definiteyl suck to be unable to start the bike because of the security system.
