I have a 1998 roadking, fuel injected.I took off all the metal this winter and had it repainted.
after I reassembled it the fuel pump doesnt not run....the dash light comes on and it seems to
energize the computer but I usually could hear the pump run, I do not hear it. I do have spark and
it will run if I squirt gas down the cylinder. Any clues.
I checked the wire under the ash.It gets 12.5 volts for about 2 seconds then drops out after the run switch
is turned on. the fuel sending unit lights up and gauge works any answers...ideas?

 

Don't have an electricial schematic in front of me.... but have you checked fuses.

If everything worked before you removed the tank and now it doesn't. Go over everything you did with the tank. Probably did not need me to tell you that!

First make sure the pins did not come part way out of the plug when you reconnected them. Test your ground for the fuel pump. If I had to guessthe ground wire is not making a good ground. Look in the manual for the routing of the wires and where connectors are, check anything that was near where you were working.
