Nobody "gets" his post, but it's everyone else who is stupid. How much do you want to bet this guy shows up in the Honda forum before too long bitchin' about his new Goldwing?

You can't make an argument from the specific to the general and expect others to not disagree.
My 06 -no problems with 10k miles except the recall on neutral light. I have an 06 ford mustang with 80k miles (yes I drive a lot) not one problem except new recall on air bag deploying too strong on passenger side but if you read the mustang forum you'd probably not want to buy one because of leaky cabin, front squeeks, trans problems etc. Get everyone in the country to talk about their cars and you'll never find a good one. My last bike -96 royal star yamaha- recall on shaft drive. tight'n up the shock at the yamaha dealer-20 bucks. tight'n up the footpeg at the harley dealer-0 bucks. Sorry you're having so many problems but I just don't see it as the norm.

I get what EZ is sayin.
Make the MOCO responsible for it's product.
Overheating issues? Beat the heck out of the warranty process.
Ok, how exactly does the conversation with the delaership go when a guy thinks his bike is running too hot?

Biker: Hey, Mr. dealer, I think my bike runs too hot, can you fix it?

Dealer: WHat makes you think it runs too hot? Is it doing anything to make you think that, like shutting down at 50 mph?

Biker: No, its never really "done" anything, ut my leg gets hot at stop lights, and it just feels really hot to me.

Dealer: Do you know how hot it it supposed to feel?

Biker: No, but it sure feels hot...fix it or I want my money back.

Dealer: Leave it for a few days and we'll look at it.

Biker: This is Fckn BS, I want it fixed now, I paid 20,000 for this bike, and that entitles me to treat you like crap, run your product down in a public forum and blame the MOCO for Iraq.

Dealer: Well sir, all I can do is have our techs look at it and see if there is something wrong.

Biker: What will I get for free for my time and trouble?

Dealer: We have some fresh coffee in the lobby.

Biker: Ok then. And by the way,do these chaps make my *** look fat.

Of course I'm just kidding, but guys, these are air cooled V-twins. They are not going to run cool, ever. My water cooled V-twin Suzuki ran just as hot as my Dyna does, or sure seemed to.

Sorry.
The 'alleged' overheating issue was just an example.
Specifically identifiable defects are what I was talking about.
I wouldn't consider screaming about a 'feeling' I had.

MAN!!! Lucky the internet wasn't happening when the Shovels were new! Warranty discussions would have imploded it!

I only picked that one because it IS such a "hot" topic on HDF. Most of the other issues I have seen, such as leaks, torn seats, and other such defects have been taken care of by the dealerships, with some exceptions of course. My bike was leaking from the sending uinit, and they put in a new sending unit and sealed it up, no questions asked. My headlight rivets were loose, and causing a rattle. They fixed it, no questions asked. I guess I should be be mad about those two issues, but I'm not. Life is way too short to get all excercised over something like this.

I still havent run across an overheating issue with anyone that I know. Lucky or? Now glowing heads, that would be pretty serious and I would suspect anybody with half a mind would get it repaired if it was under warranty.
