I'd say there's two big things that make one a poser:

1. Wondering if or accusing others of being a poser and/or
2. Spelling poser with a u (poseur)

I won't wear fingerless gloves (because, well, what's the point?), but are there any other kind of chaps besides assless? I thought that's what chaps were?? I'm considering them because of the heat issues I'm reading about on the new 96s, not for fashion. I have no fashion sense... good or bad!

I had a friend recently sell his Ultra Classic to but a Yamaha Raider. He told me that Harley sells to people who desperately need an image to follow. Since his bike is built to sound and look like a Harley, I consider him a poser.

The ultimate irony is that he sold a bike he claims appeals to the need for an image and yet he bought a one that was copying that same bike he was insulting.

 

It is perhaps meant a bit tongue in cheek, but not meant as a trolling post. Leathers makes you a poser really baffles me.That got me wondering just what all makes people label another a poser. Personally, a poser is someone that claims to be something they aren't. I don't get the concept that what bike chose to ride or the cloths you wear makes you a poser. Certainly there's extremes. Walking into a bar in leathers after driving you lexus to the bar would be an extreme. Buying a Boss Hoss as your first bike would be an extreme. The latter might fall more in the category of idiot rather than poser though. Poser to me rather requires a false claim.

i would'nt worry about it.it's a name some body came up with because they did'nt have anything else to do. i ride a harley because i can i have had five harleys because that is what i wanted .and i hve rode about every kind of bike on the market and i dont care what some other person may think.it is mind over matter . i dont mind because they dont matter.

 

I was a poser for years until I realized no need to make believe any more.I am's what I am's!!!

 

Sometimes after I ride I take a shower then stand in front of the mirror. Does that count?
