My friend has the bag your asking about, he rides many miles with leather jackets and beer hanging out every seam and we rode some of the roughest roads Montana could throw at us....
That bag is built for traveling and overfilling with........... necessities.

 

Thanks again for taking the time to help me make this decision. Nothing better than info fromriders that have tested it. I've seen some decent prices for it on ebay.

 

Take a look at T-Bag Lonestar 4. It's good sized and fits on a rack. I have heard people say the are not real fond on the top part of the Gran Tour but I don't have one. I love the Lonestar though.

The slanted top of the Gran Tour bag makes that more difficult. You won't go wrong with either decision, they're all great bags.
