Default The Real Helmet Question

You're only qualified to answer IF you've ridden without a helmet. Who cares what kind of helmet you wear, and ignore whether you live in a helmet law state or not. This is about you only in the future, not anybody else.

Given the choice, when would you choose to wear a helmet?

I'm number 2.

I rode out into the street to turn around to reposition the bikes in the garage. Does that qualify. Caught heck form my wife. Jeez.

Ride most of the time in a do-rag. Helmet when it is raining or cold weather. Didn't put the helmet on durring the trip out to Sturgis and back, except for when it rained on us going out. about a half hour out of about 2100 miles

Went on a trip to Baja several years ago. Got passed by a large group of bikers without helmets and thought, cool, I'm taking off my helmet too. Lasted about 5 miles. Didn't like it. Haven't ridden without one since. Might be because I've ridden dirt bikes and been down so many times in the dirt. Helmet saved my head from major hurt several times. Don't want that kind of experience on the pavement without a helmet.

I feel trapped with a full face helmet and my head gets too much wind blowing it around with a 1/2.... No helmet all the way.

I don't like the loss of periphial vision or MUCH muffled hearing... can't hear a car next to me as well. Why don't the put some sort of opening (perhaps with a rearward facing vent so it dosen't look like a football lid)in the ear region of helmets?

If you can hear the car, then you are WAY to close.
